Thank you card

On April 1, I entered the Sneak Preview contest for the Cookie Crumbs Ladybug Friends on the All That Scraps Blog and WON!!  WOO HOO!!  Thank you again, Amy R!

Well, my husband is a FreeMason, AND a Shriner... and he has just joined the Scarabs - which is the guys you see in the little miniature VW Beetle cars in parades!

Tom and Carol' hosted a Shriner Picnic at their house this past weekend to socialize and for the men to discuss Shriner business before the upcoming parade season. So I found out that because I am the wife of a Scarab, I am a "Lady Bug"  How cute is that??!!
And how absolutely perfect that I won the Ladybug stamp set!

Well, everyone there made us feel welcome and right at home, so the least I could do is send them a card right off the bat ... and here it is!

Below the picture stamped in black on the red card stock it says "when friends meet, hearts warm".

Belli Challenge #64 Jumbo Brads or Eyelets

Well, I didn't have nay jumbo brads or eyelets - never saw the need for them, but I wanted to give the Belli Challenge a go today so I used the biggest eyelets I had.

The angel stamp is from the Gingersnaps line, the text is from Studio g, the eyelets came with my crop-a-dile, the paper is all from my scrap basket, the inks are all from Palette I used prismacolor pencils to color it and I used prisma glitter on the wings.  The paper flower is wedding Confetti from Brides and the pink gem is from the dollar bin at Joanne Fabrics with a flower brad poked through it's center.

I really like the way the weaved paper looks going through the eyelets!

SBS 24 Challenge #25 Birthday -general

Well - I recently created two birthday cards for my parents - a March and an April Birthday.

Dad's card could truly be used as a general birthday card- the colors are pretty neutral and the embellishments aren't over the top.

Mom's card is a little more pastel in colors, making it pretty "girly", but I think the image of the party mouse could translate to anyone.

I'm pretty proud of this one.  I used lace, velvet ribbon, glitter (on the pink confetti flowers) AND rhinestones, two styles of flowers and two patterned papers - quite a lot there, but it doesn't give the impression of too much going on!

Froggy Pin

With spring in the air (some days) I was feeling a little green - the grass is green, the buds on the trees are green, the daffodils poking through the earth are green ... you get the picture!
When I photographed the pin, a few days ago, it was sunny and warm - today it is overcast and raining :(

Well - I made this sparkly froggy pin from chipboard!  The green flower was pre-glittered.
I painted the kraft chipboard circle with white pearl paint - and then stamped the frog.  I colored him in with prismacolor pencils and then over colored him with spica glitter pens.  I put stickles around the edges of the frog for more sparkle.  I took a metal ladybug charm I had in gold, and used my alcohol inks to color it red and then heat set the color on it.  Then I krazy-glued the lady bug on the flower and added a pin back ... Voila!

SBS 24 Challenge #24 Earth Day – Reduce/Reuse/Recycle what you already have

So I have been collecting these little drink mix cups for over a year now - maybe 2!  We drink a LOT of generic crystal light in my house.
I have a few more really cute ideas for them which I will be sharing along the way, but for the recycle challenge, I cleaned out the little cups being careful to remove all the foil that stuck to the rim when I opened the drink mix.  Then I filled them with candy and stamps and embellishments - Oh My!
After I filled them up, I stamped some really cute images, colored and cut them out and decorated circles cut from my 2" round punch - which fits on the top of the cup perfectly.  Then I glued the decorated circle on top of the cup with craft glue.
How cute are these?!?!?

Belli Challenge #63 Dry Embossing

Here is the dry embossing card I made for this week's Belli Challenge!
I used my cuttlebug and embossed the musical notes.  I couldn't capture the sparkle on this one cause it's pretty delicate but I glittered a full bar of music in the middle of the card.
It wasn't quite complete with just the pretty flowers at the bottom corner so I added this Birthday Chick I colored when my friend Karyn visited me in Spring - at least a year ago now I think!!!

Well - I don't know what the music is, but I am pretending it's happy birthday :)

Belli Challenge #62 Cellophane Bags

Happy Wednesday!
Today's Belli Challenge was to use Cellophane bags.
Well - I didn't actually have any of these lying around my craft room  -never saw the need for them, so this was a real challenge for me!!
Chris gave me some while I was at her house so I could play along this week  - seeing how it is my first week as a Design Team Member!!  WOO HOO!

I'm actually not too happy with the level of detail on it, but I'm sending it to my sister for my Nephew for Easter, so it will be appreciated, I'm sure :)

I just couldn't get the hang of the long low card for some reason.
Well, here it is, in any case...I coordinated it with the gift and I had to write the sentiment because I don't have a stamp that fit!  The card on the back bag has the little frog from TAC stamped in green palette ink with the words ribbit in green as well on the green floral paper from my scrap basket.  I used the Brides paper flower confetti on both of these and some green stickles on the front one.

The front bag contains two onesies and the back bag has 3 matching burp cloths in it.

Simon Says 1st Challenge!

Heidi over at Simon Says chose Yellow and Green as the colors for their first challenge!
Here is a side view showing the dimension.

I used a bunch of scraps from my scrap basket so there probably aren't any designer papers in this bunch.  I did use my my swirl embossing folder and then sanded the paper and took a yellow palette ink in yellow and ran it across the white areas that were created by the sanding.
I used my nesties circles to create the cut outs around the cute little studio G lamb I got at Michael's for $1 !!!
I used liquid applique on the lamb and used my heat gun to puff it up to make the little guy look wooly :)  I also used my prismacolor pencils and some OMS and stumps to blend the color on the lamb.

The silk flowers are from the flower department, the rhinestones from the bead isle and the paper confetti flowers are by Brides in the wedding section all at Michael's.

I think that covers it!
I really enjoyed this challenge.
Thanks!

Art Share Package

WOW!!!  HOW WONDERFUL!!

Here is a close-up of one of the pages inside.  The border around each month is different to coordinate with that month!!

Yesterday I got a package from Malta!!  Yep - that's the tiny island below Sicily, Italy.
Lorraine sent me this beautiful book with the cutest little birthday mouse on it!!  It was part of the Art Share that I discovered on her blog.
It is a book to record and keep track of birthdays!!
She also sent me some really adorable stamps that I have not seen before - I especially love the fairy sleeping on the mushroom, and a package of delightful brown blossoms to help me decorate some of my new creations!

Thank so very much Lorraine!!  Check out her other wonderful creations here!!
